Helen Hobson

Helen is a graduate of Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.

She has just completed a tour of The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber with the Showbizpops Orchestra.  Recently Helen played the role of Mrs Darling in Peter Pan at Richmond Theatre, Mary Sunshine in CHICAGO at the KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, Mrs Johnstone in BLOOD BROTHERS at the Phoenix Theatre, London and Donna in MAMMA MIA! In the First International Tour and was then invited to join the West End cast. Helen is also currently representing Mamma Mia! Worldwide at private and corporate events.

Theatre work includes playing The Fairy Godmother in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA at the Bristol Old Vic, Pauline in THE LADY IN THE VAN at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds, where she also played Vera in STEPPING OUT.  Ellen Clark, in IS THERE LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? At the Bridewell Theatre, Rita in EDUCATING RITA at the Palace Theatre, Westcliff and Nurse Plimpton in the West End production of MINDGAME, at the Vaudeville Theatre.  Previous Theatre work includes playing Anne Elliot/Jane Austen in PERSUASION at both the Northcott Theatre, Exeter and the Theatre Royal Windsor, CLOSER THAN EVER at the Jermyn Street Theatre; Mrs Lyons in BLOOD BROTHERS at the Albery Theatre, Cathy opposite Sir Cliff Richard, in HEATHCLIFF at the Hammersmith Apollo and on tour; Clara in Sondheim’s PASSION at the Queens Theatre, Mrs Walker in Tommy the European premiere, Grizabella in CATS on tour. Rose Vibert in ASPECTS OF LOVE at the Prince of Wales Theatre, Minerva in MR CINDERS at the Kings Head Theatre, and Eliza Doolittle, in the National Tour of MY FAIR LADY. Helen began her West End career in Chess and Les Miserables.

Recent television appearances include guest roles on HEARTBEAT, EASTENDERS, DOWNTO EARTH, WHERE THE HEART IS, ROSEMARY AND THYTME, NEW TRICKS, THE BILL, JUDGE JOHN DEED, and DOCTORS.

Helen is a soloist and has performed with many orchestras around the world including  the  Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The NDR Orchestra, The London Pops Orchestra  and The Kammerspiel Trio and works regularly with  Musical Director PAUL BATEMAN.  Helen is also a cabaret artist and has her own one woman show.

Helen is also a qualified Singing/Speech and Drama Teacher, and an Associate of LAMDA.
